Ladies of Laura Lane story: Connie asked us her neighbors if we would like to be in her video for the Best housewives of America contest. We shot the video and sent it in. The producers called a week later and let us know we made it in the top 10 producers cut. Then on March 18th we were up against The Hoilsten Housewives on Access Hollywood for the semi finals. We were up 79% to 31% the first several hours. Then the final hours we were 60% and they were 40% of the votes. The final minute we were ahead over 100 votes and all the sudden in the last few seconds they got 80 points but we were still 20 votes ahead. Then for some reason the voting didnt close and stayed open an extra hour but we still won by 67 votes. We were ahead the whole time. Anyway some reason Access Hollywood editor liked the Hoilsten Ladies and still put them in the final 6 even though they didnt win the votes for the semi finals against us. Then during the finals we were according to the votes at the end 2nd runner up. Bayhill babes won the voting of the contest. The Hoilsten Housewives were in 4th place according to the votes from Access Hollywood viewers. The producers decided to again to over-ride the votes and put the Hoilsten Ladies as the winners on tv the other night. The whold contest was very strange. With what we were told constantly being changed till the very end. Nothing anyone can do but it was for fun and having a great time doing it.....

Teams from Carmel and Chesterton won Americas vote in the finals for the Access Hollywood TV show "Americas hottest housewives" national contest, and nabbed two of the top 6 spots in the nation.
Both teams got through the initial producers cut. From there both teams won their spots in the semi finals through several days of online voting by America. Both having their videos shown numerous times on Access Hollywood TV show the past three weeks. As they advanced from the semi finals to the top six finals.
The Ladies of Laura Lane team from Chesterton Indiana snagged most of the online votes during the semifinals a couple of weeks ago. The producers will decide which is their favorite video out of the final winners which will then become the winner. Each video has a winning spot. The Carmel ladies have received the most online votes during the finals this week.
The Chesterton Ladies of Laura Lane team, Connie Root, Tracey Walker-Kinkade, Diana McMillon all live next door and across the street in the same culdesac and are good friends. Fitting the "Desperate Housewives" format that is the reason Access Hollywood held this contest.
They created their video when Connie Root decided to enter the contest based on the hit tv show
Putting it together for "the fun of it" ... not knowing it would make the initial cut and put in the semi finals by the Producers of Access Hollywood. They were surprised to make the initial producers cut let alone get to be one of the finalists.
The women based the video on what they felt the average American housewives who takes care of the home, children and have a full life - yet takes the time to keep fit and look as great is the idea of what a so called "American Hottest Housewife" to them.
In doing so they received the largest percentage of the votes online during the contest.

The Ladies of Laura Lane in Chesterton won the initial cut, then won the semi finals and have gone on to the Final top 6 Videos nationwide for the country’s hottest housewives contest on the TV show Access Hollywood this week.
Connie Root, Tracey Walker-Kinkade and Diana McMillon received most of the online votes during the semi-finals a couple of weeks ago which put them in the finals. Their video has been shown numerous times over the past couple of weeks on Access Hollywood in the contest.
They created their video when Connie Root decided to enter the contest based on the hit tv show Desperate Housewives. She went to her neighbors and asked if they would like to be a part of the video, putting it together for "the fun of it" ... not knowing it would make the initial cut and put in the semi-finals by the Producers of Access Hollywood. She is a wife, mother, grandmother and a clean freak when it comes to her home. She works as a part time trade show model and helps her neighbor with a trade show staffing company out of her home office.
Doing all of this, plus taking care of herself, is what she feels a normal American housewife is. Which was a hit on Access Hollywood. One question on the show was “What is in the water in Chesterton, Indiana?”
Tracey Walker-Kinkade, age 40, is a mother to an 18 year old and is a retired commercial model. She opened her own trade show staffing agency that books spokesmodels for booths at trade shows nationwide, which she also runs out of her home office. She loves to decorate her home and is a wife as well. She lives next door to Connie Root, age 44, is a mother of 6 children ages 27, 26, 22, twin duaghters age 21 and a little one age 2 and a grandmother of 9. She is a retired run way model. She is the Vice President/booking coordinator for Tracey Walker-Kinkade trade show staffing agency that books spokesmodels for booths at trade shows nationwide, which she also works out of her home office. Which works out great for both of them. She loves to decorate her home and is married to her soul mate. She too takes time to make sure she still looks her bested and is fit.
Diana McMillon age 35 is a mother of two children ages 13 and 10. She is a financial advisor and works full time as an independent rep. She managed to keep working throughout her treatment last year after being diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2004. She went through intense surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation and found great support from her fellow housewives on Laura Lane as well as her family and friends. She was happy to be a part of the excitement by entering the contest. It was just what the doctor ordered. Her message to all women, especially those going through breast cancer treatment, “Have fun and feel good about yourself.”
The trio based the video on what they felt it takes for the average American housewife who takes care of the home, children and have a full life - yet takes the time to keep fit and look as great as possible. In doing so they received a large percentage of the votes on the Access Hollywood website in the semi-finals which put them in to the finals.
Next week they will find out where they stand in the finals. They say they are just happy they made it this far and enjoyed it and the time they have been seen on TV.
